Apprenticeships take between one and four years to complete, cover a wide variety of job roles and are tailored specifically for individual organisations requirements. They are a great cost effective   way of giving your business the edge.

1 Training apprentices can be more cost effective than hiring skilled staff, leading to lower overall training and recruitment costs.

2 Apprenticeships deliver skills designed around your business needs providing the skilled workers you need for the future.

3 They can help you develop the specialist skills you need to keep up to date with the latest technology and working practices in your sector.

4 Apprentices tend to be eager, motivated, flexible and loyal to the company that invested in them.

Apprenticeship Grant for Employers (AGE) is provided through the National Apprenticeship Service and offers £1,500 to employers with up to 1,000 employees recruiting 16 to 24 year olds into apprenticeships.

Regional Growth Fund (RGF) is available to employers in the engineering industry looking to take on an apprentice. Wage subsidies of up to £7,200 are available to engineering sector businesses operating on the North Bank of the Humber. Subsidies will be paid in Year 1 of the apprenticeship at a rate of £80 per week and in Year 2 at a rate of £60 per week. As a condition of the wage subsidy, the apprentice must be engaged in an Advanced (Level 3) Engineering Manufacture (Craft and Technician) apprenticeship framework.
